Barnard College is a private women's college in Manhattan. It was founded in 1889 and is one of the oldest all-women colleges in the country. It has close affiliation with Columbia University, but it is a financially and legally separate institution and provides its own degree program and academic resources. Admissions Requirements

General Recommendations & Requirements for Admissions

Early Decision applicants must apply by November 1 and agree to exclusivity in their applications. All other applications are due by January 1. First year applicants must apply via the Common Application and submit a written essay, high school and college transcripts, standardized test scores and evaluations from a guidance counselor and teachers who taught the applicant in core academic subjects.

Supplemental application materials such as portfolios for art students can be submitted but may not be reviewed by Admissions during high-volume periods.
