Admissions Requirements

General Recommendations & Requirements for Admissions

In addition to academic performance, Occidental College looks for authenticity and artistic talent. You’re encouraged to schedule an interview, but that isn’t required for admission. You also have the option of submitting an artistic supplement to show your talent in the visual arts, music or theater.

The following is required to complete your Oxy submission:

  • High school transcript
  • Short answer questions
  • SAT or ACT test scores
  • 2 teacher letters of recommendation
  • Mid-year report (for senior year)

You’re encouraged to submit letters of recommendation that span your entire high school career. If you apply to receive an early decision, you will need to sign a binding agreement.
