General Recommendations & Requirements for Admissions

Successful Illinois Wesleyan University applicants will have strong high school transcripts that reflect at least 15 academic units split between the following subjects:

• English
• Math
• Social science
• Foreign language
• Laboratory science

Applicants for the nursing program should maximize math and science credits at the secondary level. All students are expected to have at least a B-average GPA and SAT or ACT scores that reflect their high school grades.

The application package should include the free online application, official high school transcript with test scores, personal statement and letter of recommendation from a counselor or teacher. Extracurricular activities and community service are considered in addition to academic performance.
