There are 25 academic departments and 36 majors to choose from. Admissions Requirements

General Recommendations & Requirements for Admissions

Williams College accepts the Common, Coalition and QuestBridge applications online. The admissions process is holistic and looks at the student’s academic achievement and ambition. A strong background in core subjects such as English, Mathematics and Science is essential. Students should also demonstrate leadership skills and civic-minded achievements or accomplishments.

Students will need to submit an application, standardized test scores, a counselor recommendation, two teacher recommendations and a written supplement. Students pursuing visual or performing arts can submit a portfolio for consideration as well. Students planning to pursue a career in academia or research in science or mathematics can submit research abstracts briefly describing their work in that field.
