General Recommendations & Requirements for Admissions

For consideration for admission to Southwestern University, applicants are required to have completed an academic record indicating success in 4 years of English; 4 years of mathematics; 3 years of science; 4 years of history or social science; 2 years of the same foreign language; and at least 18 units of an academic elective.

A prospective student’s consideration for admission will be based as well on any advanced, honors, or accelerated courses, along with overall performance in these courses.

Official test results from the SAT or ACT. Although there is no minimum required score from either exam, applicants should note that current students at Southwestern have scored in the top 36% on the SAT.
