General Recommendations & Requirements for Admissions

Prospective students must submit the following information with their application to be considered for admission to Birmingham-Southern College:
(1) Official high school transcript; (2) Official ACT or SAT test results; (3) Letter of recommendation from a teacher, counselor, or school administrator; (4) Official interview with admission staff or BSC alumna for test-optional students; and (5) Personal essay between 250 and 500 words.
Unofficial copies or self-reported transcripts and test results will be accepted. If the candidate subsequently enrolls, official transcripts and test results will be required at that time.
Students who opt out of providing test results may complete items 4 and 5 above instead.
